Bovada Blackjack Review

Finally… a review for a US-friendly casino*.

We think blackjack players will love them. They’re a safe casino, have hundreds of games and, using the same account, you can also play poker, bet on sports and the horses.

So do yourself a favor and sign up.

Or read the review below to learn more.

* Note: Bovada only accepts players from specific states due to individual changes in state law. For example, players from Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey cannot play here. But since these are always changing you’ll want to visit Bovada to know for sure if players from your state are accepted.

Let’s Look at Bovada’s Software

What’s unique about their software is they use two providers – Real Time Gaming and BetSoft.

Real Time Gaming powers almost every US-friendly casino out there. Nothing real special about that.

But BetSoft doesn’t – and they’re unique in that they focus on 3D games (mostly 3D slots). These games are SO much fun to play. Even if you’re not usually a fan of slots.

Anyway… they have a download for PC users and an instant play casino for everyone else.

What I like most about their instant play casino is they let you play without creating an account.

Not for real money, mind you – but you can try their casino out – NOW – without going through the tedious process of filling out a ton of fields.

(Their free games are also a great way to kill time.)

Their casino is mobile-friendly, too, and is compatible with iOS or Android-powered phones and tablets. They have one of the largest selections of mobile games in the US market.

Now For Their (Blackjack) Games

Bovada actually has an impressive number of blackjack variations.

Here are the games you can play:

The downside to their selection is they don’t offer live dealer games.

bovada-casino-blackjack-screenshotThat’s the biggest bummer, for sure, next to having only 4 blackjack games in their Flash casino.

(Poor Mac players.)

But it’s a solid casino overall. They have several hundred games to play other than blackjack. That includes all of your favorites plus 3D slots from BetSoft, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in progressive jackpots.

You can also use the same account to gamble in their sportsbook and poker room.

Time For Some Promotions

Bovada has a few promotions.

For starters – all mobile users can get a free $10 chip. It’s kind of like an appetizer.

The main course would be their $3,000 deposit bonus.

Now… only $1,000 of it is available to blackjack players. The rest is for slots players.

But the offer is a 100% match up to $250. And you can use the offer four times.

The downside is the rollover – it’s HUGE. You have to rollover the deposit and bonus 40x. That comes out to $80,000 if you take advantage of the entire offer.

That’s bigger than both Bet365 and Casino 888.

So that may or may not be something you’re interested in.

But there are other blackjack offers.

There is a deal called Blackjack Weekends. For every 200 points you earn playing blackjack you’ll get a $10 chip. You can do this over and over until you earn $100.

They have casino points, too. You’ll get 1 point for every $10 you bet playing blackjack. Every 100 points will get you $1 to play with.

They also have an additional 100% match up to $100 which you can use once a week, any time you choose.

And on Tuesdays if you spend more than $250 on any table game (including blackjack) you can get a free $10 deposited into your account the following day.

So their offers are not all bad.

Funding Your Account

You can use credit cards or Rapid Transfer to fund your account. Not a whole lot of options, but you have to make do with what you have.

For withdrawals you can use Rapid Transfer or request a check.

What I Like About Bovada

Where Bovada Can Improve

Our Grade and Final Thoughts

I give Bovada an A-.

Now… before you freak out… just know that I’m comparing Bovada to other US-friendly casinos.

Compared to 888 or Bet365 they would be a B or B-. But I feel like that’s comparing apples to oranges since most people reading this won’t be able to play there.

There are areas Bovada can improve in – that’s a given.

But they have a good selection of (mobile-friendly) games, solid software and plenty of promotions to choose from.
